Brownstone Family Photos in NYC

The coziest streets in Manhattan are speckled with old brownstones—you know, the kind of houses you see in every dreamy NYC movie that make living in the city a dream come true… So of course, when this cute street neighbored Leslie and Drew’s, we had to wander over to document more of their life with their new little guy. These brownstone family photos in NYC made me feel like I was living out my NYC movie dreams.

There’s something extra special about documenting a family in their neighborhood, especially when it’s one as iconic as Chelsea. Leslie and Drew chose this spot not only because it’s home but because they wanted to capture these early moments as a family, with baby T snug in their arms and the charm of their neighborhood all around. We spent time exploring their area, stopping by their favorite park, and capturing every sweet detail of their new life as 3.

This family session was such a reminder of why I love photographing in NYC, especially for families who want to celebrate the city as part of their story. For Leslie, Drew, and their little guy, these moments are about more than just pretty NYC streets; they’re about capturing their life right now, as it is, in the place where they’re building their family. It was a true honor to step into their world for a day and capture these unforgettable moments in a place they love so dearly.

It’s hard to not want a location as perfect as this for your own session… which is why I’ve made a list of streets just like this in NYC!

Other great NYC photoshoot locations are your local park/playground, central park, your favorite cafe, the High Line, Coney Island (a little further, but so fun!)
