This Spring, I had the chance to shoot an engagement session at Landsford Canal State Park, a beautiful spot just south of Charlotte, NC! Getting woodsy engagement photos near Charlotte isn’t so much of a feat as it seems! This park known for its quiet woodlands, scenic trails, and it’s spider lilys! Although we were hoping to get loads of flowers in our shots, a recent storm had taken most of them out 🙁 The setting was still so perfect for this couple—all natural beauty!
As a North Carolina photographer, I’m no stranger to unpredictable weather, and this session was no exception. As we explored the park, walking through the trees and along the river, the weather took an unexpected turn. Rain began to fall, but instead of stopping, we decided to keep going. The rain brought a soft, diffused light, creating a calm and intimate atmosphere that added something special to the afternoon.
This session is a reminder that sometimes the best moments happen when you go with the flow! Overall, I love how moody and soft these photos feel. I truly felt like a little fairy frolicking through the small meadows within the trees!
