From the historic getting ready space in the heart of Tryon, NC to the wedding location just 20 minutes away at the beautiful Overmountain Vineyards, this mountain garden party wedding was filled with character and charm. The 1825 Cabin, known as “Pea Ridge Cabin“, served as the perfect space for Savanna and her closest friends to hang out and get ready before they went over to the vineyard for the bride and groom first look.

When Savanna described their wedding day vision as “modern/romantic with a touch of vintage softness”, she was spot on. This wedding was FILLED with cool, eclectic details that represented them and their relationships to their loved ones, down to the playing cards that acted as table numbers. Evans mother was a card game lover, as is the rest of his maternal family, so it was special to incorporate that love into their day. 13 tables for 13 cards.

After their ceremony, they spent the cocktail hour mingling, drinking their signature cocktails, and accepting an incredible work of art from 2 of their friends (scroll for that – its amazing and i’d be so sad if you missed it!) We ventured off for their bride and groom photos that scream “Italian wedding portraits” and came back in time for an incredible meal by Paseo, a catering company out of Greenville, SC. The remainder of the night was spent laughing at hilarious toasts, dancing, and soaking in all of the great company.

Working as a photographer in Tryon is a really beautiful thing. If you know anything about the south, you might know that the people are usually kind and welcoming and yes, Tryon is full of that. As a visually driven person though, it’s amazing to be surrounded by the mountains and photograph at the foothills. On top of that, It’s close proximity to Asheville, NC and Greenville, SC makes it easy to bring in so many fun and talented wedding vendors!

Since Olivia and Graham were coming up from Georgia, I knew their session couldn’t be just anywhere. It needed to be somewhere unique – somewhere worth hours in the car for. I had never been to this SC waterfall and was shocked at how easily accessible (and remote) it was. We basically had the whole […]

There are times in life as a photographer when we get so caught up in running here and there, working our butts off, and creating for others that we forget to do something VITAL for ourselves… creating just to create. When you don’t water a garden, nothing grows. The same is true for our mind, […]
