where words don't do justice for the moments contained
I likely chose way too many photos of Sarah and Lucas from their sunset engagement… OOPS!… but I simply couldn’t help myself. This is one of my favorite photo locations in Western North Carolina and no matter what season I go, rain, fog, or shine, it’s incredible!
To Sarah, Max Patch is a special place. She not only grew up hiking there regularly, but she always envisioned the wedding of her dreams to be there. Their wedding won’t be at Max Patch (but still in the stunning mountains of Boone, NC), so the next best thing was for their session to take place there! We hiked up in anticipation of Lucas’ reaction to the breathtaking landscape as it was his first visit. I’d say he loves it now just as much as us.. who wouldn’t?!
For this super sweet engagement session, we were blessed with the most glowy, sun-kissed evening in the mountains. These two warmed up with a little bourbon, ran around the mountain, popped champagne in classic picnic fashion, and then watched the sun go down in peace and with gratitude.
Theres no other way I’d want to spend time with my couples than doing exactly what means the most to them!

There are times in life as a photographer when we get so caught up in running here and there, working our butts off, and creating for others that we forget to do something VITAL for ourselves… creating just to create. When you don’t water a garden, nothing grows. The same is true for our mind, […]
If you can envision a perfect early fall wedding – this was it. There were leaves galore and the most beautiful assortment of colors speckling the mountains. As you can see, this made a stunning ceremony backdrop. What I loved most about this day though, wasn’t the pretty colors, her beautiful dress, or the literal […]
Abbie and Adams wedding in Hendersonville, NC was as sweet as they come. Every moment was intentional, moving, and beautiful. Only months prior to their wedding day, Abbies mother passed away. Abbie was so thoughtful in incorporating her mothers memory into every part of their day. From wearing her mothers rings and her photo on […]

"We cried when we saw the photos for the first time. Nothing will ever compare to those memories. We will cherish them always, our first precious family heirloom."
