When planning their engagement session (Riverside Engagement Photos in Asheville), G + G chose something truly unique— a campsite along a sparkling riverbank right outside of Asheville! This is an activity that’s so common within their relationship that it felt perfectly natural. With a camping reservation just for their photoshoot, this session captured so much more than just beautiful backdrops; it was an experience that felt as close to a date night as a photoshoot.

Just before the sun slowly dipped behind the trees, they set up a small fire and got to roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, and sipping homemade lemonade. There’s something magical about the simplicity of sitting by a crackling fire, and that warmth and closeness definitely came through in their photos. Their sweet pup was all in, too, happily joining for treats, cuddles, and a few adorable photos of their own.

With a soft glow from the fire and the river’s flow as the soundtrack, this session was a relaxed reminder of how Asheville’s natural beauty can make even the smallest moments feel like an escape; a reminder I need and can reflect on so much more now that we’ve experienced the WILDness of nature shown to us by Hurricane Helene.
