Being based in Western North Carolina, finding the perfect spot for engagement photos post-Hurricane Helene was no small feat. With so many trails and parks impacted by the storm, I wasn’t sure where we’d land for Audrey and Tom’s session. In the end, we lucked out with a gorgeous Table Rock State Park Engagement Session at Golden Hour!

I met Audrey and Tom in the early evening, and we couldn’t have asked for a better backdrop. The upstate SC park’s iconic lakeside trail was serene, with sunlight glistening on the water and hints of fall colors peeking through the trees. We strolled along the trail, stopping at scenic spots that highlighted the beauty of the park.

When it came to editing their gallery, I knew I wanted to capture the warmth and intimacy of their connection. Using a film-style approach, especially in the first half of their session, I leaned into cozy, golden tones that bring out the soft light and natural colors of the evening. The result is a collection of photos that feel timeless and effortlessly romantic.

Audrey and Tom were so fun to work with, and their laughter and love for each other made my job so easy. This session reminded me why I love living and working in such a beautiful area—it’s all about finding those perfect little moments, even after the storm.
