where words don't do justice for the moments contained
Maddie + Austin.
These two are SO fun and their love and happiness with each other beyond evident. I couldn’t count how many times “I love you” was said if I had to. Since they love the highlands so much and it holds so many memories for them, it only made sense that they would commit their lives to one another in these mountains. This moody wedding at The White Crow in Banner Elk, NC was a dream. I absolutely LOVE photographing Boone weddings, but here in the mountains, you never really know what the weather is going to do. Even as the clouds rolled in, they still hoped for an outdoor ceremony – and an outdoor ceremony they had! The rain cleared up and moved out just 30 minuted before the ceremony.
Maddie and Austin shared a private moment before their ceremony where they exchanged letters and vows, right on the edge of the property. I really love when couples choose to incorporate a “first look” – or a “first touch”, like this! Not only is the privacy great for photos sake, but most importantly, the couple has this chance to release and discuss any anxiety they were feeling. Afterwards, they ALWAYS feel so much more at ease and ready to tackle the wedding day head on! There is no comfort that compares to finally hearing your partners voice.
Photographing this day was truly so special. It couldn’t have happened without this amazing vendor team!

These two have true hearts of gold, and although I’ve known them for such a short time, I want to know them forever. Melissa and Doug invited me up to the Jersey shore and Long Branch to photograph their wedding and document them in a way that felt natural to them. It was such an […]
From the historic getting ready space in the heart of Tryon, NC to the wedding location just 20 minutes away at the beautiful Overmountain Vineyards, this mountain garden party wedding was filled with character and charm. The 1825 Cabin, known as “Pea Ridge Cabin“, served as the perfect space for Savanna and her closest friends […]
M and E’s stunning wedding in the mountains of Weaverville, NC. There were so many emotional, heartfelt moments of their day, including their first look and private first vows. Not long ago, it was uncommon for a bride and groom to see each other before their ceremony. That “walking down the aisle” moment was what […]
If you can envision a perfect early fall wedding – this was it. There were leaves galore and the most beautiful assortment of colors speckling the mountains. As you can see, this made a stunning ceremony backdrop. What I loved most about this day though, wasn’t the pretty colors, her beautiful dress, or the literal […]
Abbie and Adams wedding in Hendersonville, NC was as sweet as they come. Every moment was intentional, moving, and beautiful. Only months prior to their wedding day, Abbies mother passed away. Abbie was so thoughtful in incorporating her mothers memory into every part of their day. From wearing her mothers rings and her photo on […]
Michaela and Brock are one of the most fun and personable couples I’ve had the honor of photographing. Their June wedding at Castle McCulloch was one for the books. It was filled with intentionality and a focus on truly spending time with the special people they invited. It’s unfortunate that not all couples get to […]
