There’s something almost magical about the quiet calm of a city that never sleeps, especially when you get to experience it just past sunrise. Greenwich Village in New York City, usually buzzing with energy and people, feels like a secret garden in those early hours. And that’s exactly where Kate and Najeer found themselves for the morning adventure of their couples photos in Washington Square Park.

I have been wanting to photograph a couple or engagement photos in Greenwich Village for far too long! Washington Square Park is in the heart of Greenwich Village as one of the most iconic spots in NYC. With the first light of dawn gently illuminating the famous arch and the fountains still serenely quiet, it felt like the entire park was just for them. There’s a certain intimacy in morning sessions to me, when it feels like most of this busy city has yet to start their day.

Kate and Najeer roamed around the park, strolled over to Stumptown Coffee roasters (this and Hungry Ghost are my favorite coffee shops in the west village!), and made a quick stop at their first date bar – Analogue.

I truly could not have imagined a better couple for this morning session and loved every minute that I got to document their giddy love. 10/10 reccommend.
