Orion Schoolhouse and Chapel is one of my favorite venues in WNC! There is so much character in both parts of the venue and personally, I find so much beauty in getting married in a little white chapel. So classic and romantic! This super moody Wedding at Orion Schoolhouse and Chapel in fall was so much fun to photograph as a NC wedding photographer.

Hayley and Warrens wedding day was extra special and full of so many personal details. Hayleys getting ready robe (first pic!) was created from her mothers wedding dress as such a sentimental piece and her “something old”. Their invites were paper fortune tellers that held their wedding day details and itinerary for the day. I really loved this and had never seen it before! Lastly but sooo importantly, each dinner table was set with a table number that shared a story from part of their life together, from meeting, to dates and dating, and getting engaged. It was such a cool way for everyone to learn even more about their relationship and feel extra involved!

The Venue

If you’re dreaming of a wedding day that feels timeless, intimate, and full of character, Orion Schoolhouse and Chapel is truly one of those places that just gets it rightttt. It’s easily one of my favorite venues in WNC. Honestly, it’s hard not to fall in love with it the second you step on the property.

I have to say… I will always be a fan of a little white chapel wedding. It feels so classic, so romantic, and just really cool since it’s not so common anymore. At Orion specifically, the chapel is a moody DREAM. So different from typical whitewashed chapels. This space is dark and cozy, and when light streams through the big arched windows, its a NC photographers dream!

The schoolhouse adds a completely different layer to the day. It’s warm, full of character, and gives you so much flexibility for bigger weddings while still feeling cohesive with the overall vibe. It’s perfect for a wedding day that’s planned around mingling, spending time outdoors, and natural beauty. As a documentary wedding photographer, I love this venue!!!

I will never not be excited to shoot at Orion Schoolhouse and Chapel in Jefferson, NC!
